Gallery One is happy to announce a special Studio Visit with Julie Prather on May 16, from 1PM* to 3PM.
*please note the change from the original 1:30 time which was incorrectly listed.
This unique one-day event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look inside the home studio of one of Ellensburg’s most celebrated artists. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Julie Prather, explore her creative space, and enjoy light refreshments in an intimate setting.
Prather, a longtime Gallery One artist, works in both glass and photography. She has been creating stained glass since 1974 and is known for her distinctive style and community-centered work, including public art projects incorporating children’s artwork. In 2025 she was honored with the City Arts Treasure Award. Her glasswork is widely recognized and collected throughout Washington, and her photography has also received statewide acclaim. In addition to her visual art practice, Prather has been an active supporter of dance in the Ellensburg community.
Gallery One members may recognize her iconic glass lamps, featured in last November’s Mezzanine exhibition.
Gallery One members will be given priority to purchase tickets until May 15, after which tickets will be available to the public. Event admission is $20 per person and can be purchased at Gallery One or online shop.gallery-one.org/products/jprather-studio-tour. Space is limited, and parking is extremely limited; carpooling is strongly encouraged.
